50s, 60s and 70s, all performed by a cast old enough to have lived it!
Remember
running home after school to watch "American Bandstand" and
learning the latest dance craze? Well, starting November 1st, you can
re-live that rockin' "black and white" era once again when
we present our all-new show, "Dance to the Music." From the
Stroll to the Twist to Disco, we're dancing them all . . . and more,
but this time, live and in glorious color -- starring our timeless Follies

Christmas in Folliesland - Two New Year’s Eve Shows Cap Seasonal
Festivities
When the balloons and confetti drop at the stroke of midnight on December
31, 2012 and the final strains of Auld Lang Syne play, The Fabulous
Palm Springs Follies’ holiday season will have officially ended.
But until then, the Follies proudly presents its all-new holiday production
– with up to eight performances per week – featuring musical
selections both sacred and secular. A soaring medley of “Silent
Night,” “Ave Maria” and “O’ Holy Night”;
a comedic performance of “The Dreidel Song” by dancing rabbis;
a burlesqued “Santa Baby”; and a shimmering onstage snowfall
to the strains of “White Christmas” all combine to make
the Follies’ Yuletide offering unlike anything you’ve seen
before. Then, on December 31, the Follies presents two special New Year’s
Eve performances at 3:30 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., each with a glittering
champagne reception and hats and noisemakers to welcome in 2013 (“Rio
de Janeiro midnight” for matinee-goers).
In addition, the Follies makes holiday shopping easy with convenient
gift certificates, redeemable for any performance. And for the ultimate
gift, the new Follies Annual Passport allows unlimited attendance for
the current season plus numerous other valuable benefits. Both may be
purchased at either the Follies Box Office or by calling 760-327-0225.
As
in previous seasons of giving, the Follies is again a drop-off location
for the U.S. Marine Corps’ Toys for Tots Program. Through December
15, anyone in the vicinity during a performance may donate a new, unwrapped
toy at the bin placed outside the theatre doors. Follies fans have made
the Plaza Theatre one of the top donor sites for this most worthwhile
annual toy drive benefiting needy children.
So
if you are searching in vain for holiday spirit among the rush and crush
of year-end obligations, The Fabulous Palm Springs Follies offers you
a haven of joyful Christmas cheer and unforgettable New Year’s
revelry.
This season
we’re presenting an extraordinary line-up of world-renowned guest
stars and variety acts!
LORNA LUFT
November 1 - December 31, 2012
From November 1st through December 31st celebrated vocalist Lorna Luft
makes her Follies’ debut. Her performance is of course, an inspired
tribute to her legendary mother, Judy Garland!

CHRISTIE

From January 8th through March 9th, lightening strikes the historic
Plaza Theatre when the multi-million selling recording artist, Lou Christie,
makes his Follies’ debut.
LESLEY GORE

the Follies stage she was a huge hit . . . see why for yourself.
MAT PLENDL
ALL SEASON
All season long, the Follies will present unquestionably the world’s
greatest hula-hoop artist, Mat Plendl! He is a true star. Mat Plendl
was the US National Hula Hoop Champion at the age of 13, then went on
to a career in stage musicals and voice-over. At age 24 he performed
his hula hoop act on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson 3 times
within a 6-month period, and has since dazzled audiences in person and
on TV across the Globe. Mat Plendl has been a favorite NBA half-time
performer and a question in Trivial Pursuit. He has appeared on Donny
& Marie, The Mickey Mouse Club and Don't Just Sit There, as well
as Fantastico (Italy) and Zakku Baran (Japan).
RIFF
MARKOWITZ
And, of course, Follies Impresario, Riff Markowitz, is your personal
guide through the unique realm that is "Follies Land." He
hasn't missed a performance yet and he isn't likely to start now! And
that's fortunate because it wouldn't be a Follies without his unique
blend of cutting-edge satire and Old World savoir-faire.
The Follies has
now been seen by more than three-million astounded fans, but don't just
take our word for it; read what media are saying the world over:
The
Associated Press: "The Palm Springs Follies (is) ... part
shtick, part extravaganza and part minor miracle."
The
New York Times: "The show is vital, vibrant, even sexy.
(The audience is) ready to laugh, to reminisce, to be inspired."
Toronto
Globe and Mail: "The glamorous Follies "girls"
parade on stage in Las Vegas-style costumes and very high heels, showing
off impossibly long legs to superb effect."
The
London Times: "Follies is a variety of song, burlesque,
lots of legs and sequined costumes. A slick, professional extravaganza."
The
Washington Post: "The regular standing ovations suggest
that this is the right stuff in the right place at the right time."
The
Today Show: "Dazzling."
People
Magazine: "A genuine blast from the past."
