Classically
trained, inspired by a deep curiosity for what lies under the
skin of things, and informed by her work as a poet, Kate
Buckley's paintings are an exploration of what binds
us together and what tears us apart.
Buckley's compositions
tell stories against big backdrops, then focus in on the elemental
nuances. Working primarily in acrylics and mixed media collage,
in subject matter ranging from mythology to philosophical quandaries
of the modern age, her dreamlike images create worlds all their
own.
Kate Buckley's paintings are in private collections in Florida,
Kentucky, New York, Laguna Beach and Palm Springs, and have
been published in journals such as The Adirondack Review
and purchased by such entities as The American Institute
of Certified Public Accountants (Board of Directors Invitation
2005). Buckley's paintings are available for purchase and she
is currently accepting commissions.
A member of the National League
of American Pen Women (in both Arts and Letters), Kate resides
in a 1960's beach bungalow with her husband, a tangle of roses,
and three unruly dogs.
