The Guess Who Spotlight
29 Casino, 46-200 Harrison Place, Coachella, CA 92236 / The Guess
Who are Canada's first international rock superstars. They have
14 top 40 hit singles and two of those landed them in the number
one spot. "American Woman" sat atop the Billboard charts
for 14 weeks in 1970. The hit also became a successful song for
Lenny Kravitz in 1999, winning him a Grammy and introducing The
Guess Who to a new audience. They scored their second #1 song
also in 1970 with "No Sugar Tonight". The group continued
to chart with the singles "Hand Me Down World", "Share
The Land", "Bus Rider", "Rain Dance",
"Albert Flasher", "Star Baby" and "Clap
for the Wolfman". Although membership in the group has changed
through the years, they have remained musically consistent behind
the strengths of original members Jim Kale (bass and vocals) and
Garry Peterson (drums and vocals). Additionally, current members
include Derek Sharp (vocals and guitars), Leonard Shaw (keyboards,
flute, sax and vocals) and Laurie MacKenzie (guitars and vocals).

Indio Open-Air Market
Riverside County Fairgrounds, 46350 Arabia Street, Indio, CA /
New and used, brand-name merchandise is discovered at the Indio
Open-Air Market, held from 4-10 p.m., Wednesday and Saturday (except
during Date Festival), at the Riverside County Fair and National
Date Festival Fairgrounds. The architecture of the fairgrounds
is that of a city in Morocco, and in that way is perhaps the most

The market fills the palm tree fringed parking area of the fairgrounds.
Shoppers can watch the sunset while buying "fresh from the
field" produce picked that morning by our vendors. A trip
for produce should always include the fresh dates that are grown
in the immediate area. Nearly everything for the entire family
can be found at reasonable prices by browsing the many aisles
with the moon as your companion. This is a very social marketplace
and friends gather to shop and eat here. For more information,
