Plans announced to open Hard Rock Hotel Palm Springs in Fall 2013

Hard Rock International – with hotel locations from Bali to Cancun, San Diego to Singapore and Chicago to Macau – announces plans to open Hard Rock Hotel Palm Springs in Fall 2013, bringing the legendary Hard Rock vibe to one of Southern California’s hottest vacation destinations. Hard Rock International, in collaboration with Kittridge Hotel Management, will transform the former Hotel Zoso into an enviable hotel destination, reflecting the famed Hard Rock brand in a city known for its year-round sunshine, clear skies and endless activities.

“We’re thrilled to bring the Hard Rock experience to this world-renowned city and are very pleased with our new relationship with Kittridge Hotels,” said Nelson Parker, head of development in the Americas for Hard Rock Hotels & Casinos. “Hard Rock Hotel Palm Springs will serve as an iconic entertainment and leisure destination and, true to the Hard Rock brand, will be a hot spot for musicians, celebrities and our valued Hard Rock fans.”

With 160 rooms, Hard Rock Hotel Palm Springs will be the brand’s second lifestyle hotel in Southern California and will offer a VIP rock star suite, Rock Spa®, Body Rock® workout facility, the world famous Rock Shop® featuring Hard Rock’s iconic merchandise, exceptional dining options, a local hotspot lobby bar, and a rock n’ roll oasis, where guests will enjoy poolside cocktails, chaise lounges and blazing fire pits. In addition to its premium accommodations with comfortable Sleep Like a Rock® linens, the hotel will boast 20,500 square feet of ballroom and banquet facility space and an @Biz Business Center. True to its musical roots, Hard Rock Hotel Palm Springs will ignite the region with outstanding live entertainment, adding to Palm Springs’ established scene of rich music traditions like the Coachella and Stagecoach Music Festivals. In addition, music and pop culture lovers will be treated to music memorabilia lining the hotel walls from local and global icons, including rock n’ roll legends, hip-hop stars and indie artists alike.

Hard Rock Hotel Palm Springs, along with the growing collection of Hard Rock Hotels, will applaud rock-n-roll through brand wide programs, from the on-site VIBE managers, who keep a pulse on the hotel’s feeling, atmosphere and energy, to the groundbreaking, interactive amenity “The Sound Of Your Stay®,” where guests jam out with hands-on music experiences. The Sound of Your Stay® offers Hard Rock fans three components: Tracks®, where guests receive an exclusive code to download a personal playlist, curated by music pros and celebs for the ultimate soundtrack to the hotel experience; Picks®, offering fans a menu of 20 Fender® guitars for an in-room jam session complete with amps and SOUL by Ludacris headphones; and Mix®, where music fanatics match beats and remix like a pro with the in-room delivery of a Traktor Kontrol S2 mixer, a laptop loaded with digital mixing software and SOUL by Ludacris headphones.

Palm Springs Hard Rock Hotel

The developer of a roughly 100-foot-tall Hard Rock Hotel proposed for the convention center area is holding an informational meeting. It takes place at the convention center ballroom from 5:30 to 7 p.m..

The Nexus Cos., based in Santa Ana, hopes to build the nearly 500-room luxury hotel on about 10 acres on Tahquitz Canyon Way between Calle El Segundo and Calle Alvarado.

The city's Architectural Advisory Committee voted to support the project last month. The hotel, which would include two signature restaurants, a luxury spa, nightclub and 32,000 square feet in banquet and meeting space, is slated to go before the Planning Commission Sept. 12. Nexus hopes to complete the hotel in 2010

David Clarish Hello Palm Springs Fans, I was reading that they are still planning on building the Hard Rock, they have to change the plan on having the 3 resturants. As for the Hard Rock Hotel, it isn't going to be like the one in Las Vegas, it will be mostly condo's, which we DO NOT need more of. So that is the update on the Rock & PS.. Enjoy your 2008 Summer.

Palm Springs Hard Rock Hotel

Nexus Companies, which is developing the Hard Rock Hotel Palm Springs and has potentially scrapped plans for The Delano, is working on plans for additional hotels in downtown Palm Springs. A 10-acre parcel at Tahquitz Canyon Way and Hermosa Drive, near the Courtyard by Marriott hotel could potentially be home to two hotels, Palm Springs Mayor Steve Pougnet said. Last summer, Nexus submitted plans at City Hall for a 500-room, 9-story hotel there, but Pougnet said they are now working on plans for two hotels that would share a parking lot and be three to four stories high.

Hard Rock Hotel - Palm Springs

Hello Todd,

I've read that a certain community organization is opposing some of the hotel building designs and as a result, has the delayed the construction of the project. Do you know if this is accurate?

Regards,

Someone was asking about timing. The project is going to sale in early spring, and typically, it takes about 18-24 months after sale for the project to be completed and fully operational. So, that puts it around 2010.

Is the property actually extending to Tahquitz, or is it just going where the parking lot is now?

Palm Springs Hard Rock Hotel

The last I heard is that Hard Rock Hotel is still trying to finalize plans with the city of Palm Springs. I know they want to build by the Palm Springs Convention Center - Tahquitz & Eldorado Drive area over by the Hilton and Wyndham Hotel. Other buzz I have heard is that Brad Pitt is looking to build a multi-million dollar resort in the area! Of course, there's nothing confirming this...yet!

ellie99 As far as when The Hard Rock will come to Palm Springs, Trevor Horwell, chief hotels officer for Hard Rock International, has been quoted as saying. “I think maybe two and a half 2 years...”
Plans call for three buildings ranging from two to five stories on the 10-acre Prairie Schooner parcel, bordered by Tahquitz Canyon Way, Calle El Segundo, Andreas Road and Calle Alvarado.

I've heard that a Hard Rock Hotel is coming to Palm Springs. When and where will it be built?
