Question Interested in 40's,50s-60's Palm Springs

I was born in Palm Springs 60 years ago, and my wonderful Grandparents owned restaurants in Cathedral City and Palm Springs, as well as my uncle, who owned a restaurant and motel/hotel next to the golf course. I was wondering if there was anyone out there who had any info about researching, or any pictures, from this very happy time in my life.
I was born in the ElMirador Hotel, which was apparently used as a temporary hospital, mostly for injured vets..I remember my Mother used to have a copy of the newspaer (2 pages, both sides!) that had my birth announcement...it was the only one that day, and also, it snowed, so it has been considered an omen in my family, since I now live in Canada.
Any response to this would be greatly appreciated!

For starters, try contacting the Palm Springs Historical Society -

Also, try the Palm Springs Public Library - I'm pretty sure you can search old newspaper articles on-line. Good luck!
