Default Question also about Dining at 8000

We are also planing to go to the The Top of the Tram Restaurant for dinner , want to find out when is the best time to head up there, (like head up around 7 PM for sunset?if there is sunset? What is up there to do beside resturant, hike a little and then have dinner? At night between 8 to 9 PM would we expect to see a beautiful stary niight ? Should we bring a binocular. It is 5 of us with 3 adult childrens. Thanks in advance.

Cool Palm Springs Aerial Tramway

The Ride-n-Dine option may be just right for you and your family. You can purchase tickets for the Ride-n-Dine after 3pm. This combination includes the cost of the tram and dinner at The Pines Café - a casual, cafeteria style eatery. The cost for adults is $34 and for children between the ages of 3 & 12, the cost is $22.

We recommend going up between 3 & 4pm and taking a short hike. Unfortunately, because of the mountains, you won't be able to see the sunset, however, what you will see are some really spectacular views! Your binoculars...yes, bring them! There are also a few telescopes for your use.

Summer Hours: From Saturday, May 27th to Friday, September 1st the Tramway will be open longer with the last Tram up at 9pm and last Tram down at 10:30pm. The First Tram up Monday-Friday 10am and the first Tram up Saturday and Sunday 8am. Also, The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway will be closed for its annual maintenance September 11 - September 29. The Tramway is scheduled to reopen on September 30.

Have a great time!

As long as the sky is clear, you should be able to see many stars!

Smile The View at the Top

The view from the top is amazing. You cannot believe how high up you are from the desert floor. I believe it is the highest/steepest tramway incline in North America. The ride up is worth the price alone for the kids. The food is just OK in the dining room but that should not deter you.
