Golf Digest gave the Desert Falls Country Club four stars for outstanding course condition, professional staff, rate of play and overall value. It was also voted one of the top 10 courses in the desert by the SCPGA, the Desert Falls Country Club has a links-type course that is surprisingly hilly for the desert.
Designed by renowned designer Ron Fream, this course is heavily trapped with very large, multilevel greens, the 7,000 yard link style Par 72 course features superb Tifdwarf greens and 5 tee placements on every hole. Water a major factor on seven holes. This is a fair and demanding course.
One-of-a-kind elements incorporated into Desert Falls include three signature holes: The par-3 No. 14 is among the toughest in the desert with its massive 18,000-square-foot green (the largest green west of the Rocky Mountains) and, in essence, three greens in one. The 9th is a tricky par 5 that can tempt longer hitters into going for the green in two over the lake. The 18th, with its shared lake to No. 9, is a demanding par-4. At 437 yards, more sand and water protect the green.
The Desert Falls Country Club has served as a Stage I PGA Tour qualifying site.
