Follies is a three-hour, razzle-dazzle, song and dance vaudeville-style
extravaganza showcasing the music and dance of the '30s, '40s

A Modern Renaissance in Italian Glass Palm Springs Museum of Art,
101 Museum Drive, Palm Springs, CA 92262 / This exhibition,
a comprehensive forty-year retrospective of Tagliapietra's art
and career, documents and celebrates his remarkable achievements
as a contemporary artist. The exhibition includes 169 art works
that range from a room-size installation of his impressive Endeavor
boat series, to groupings of masterful goblets, to elegant and
evocative sculptural forms. Tagliapietra is widely revered as
the master of glassblowing, an inspiring teacher and the elder
statesman who is credited with shaping the course of international

Thru 6/10 Certified Farmers’ Markets Every Saturday morning from
8 am to 12:30 pm. at 2300 E Baristo at Farrell - North Side
of the Camelot Theatres in Palm Springs, the Certified Farmers
Market will bring local farmers and vendors together to showcase
the fruits of their labor. The CFM is a gathering place where
the community can learn about the importance of nutrition, fresh
produce and organic options. The market features farm and food
only vendors.organic and transitional produce, herbs, lavender,cheese,
bread , honey, nuts, eggs, olives and olive oil,fresh cut flowers,
orchids and plants and much more. A Market Chef booth features
recipes, culinary delights, educational materials. and guest
chefs from around the Coachella Valley. We will also have "Music

- 12/12/09 On Earth to Stay On
Earth to Stay,
an exhibit planned in recognition of Native American Heritage
month will be held at La Quinta Museum, 77885 Avenida Montezuma
in La Quinta, CA. The exhibit, presented by La Quinta Arts Foundation,
La Quinta Historical Society and La Quinta Museum will be accompanied
by a series of lectures, demonstrations and events, free to
the public. The exhibit features an extensive collection of
Native American basketry and artifacts from the collections
of artist David Salk, along with Salk’s contemporary ceramic
interpretations of Native American baskets. Also on display
will be photographs and writings of George Wharton James (1858-1923).
James was a prolific lecturer and journalist, writing more than
forty books and many articles and pamphlets on California and
the American Southwest. The exhibit is open all regular hours
of the museum, Tuesday through Saturday, 10am to 4pm. For more

MYX is a little three piece band with a big sound, from the
Palm Springs desert area playing music from the 1950s, 60s,
80s to the present. The band plays a good mix of music from
dining to dancing, rock and country. The Myx will be at The
Augustine Casino, 84-001 Avenue 54, Coachella, CA on Nov 13
, 14 and 27, 28 and on Dec 11, 12, 25 and 26 from 9pm to 1am.
and they will be there for New year's Eve 7pm - 1 No cover charge.

City of Palm Springs Festival
of Lights Parade
Palm Canyon Drive between Tamarisk and Ramon / The annual Palm Springs
Festival of Lights Parade was born on December 5, 1992 and has been
held every year since, on the first Saturday in December. The parade
was the vision of a small group of community minded individuals
who believed it important to offer the community an event that would
allow all people to enjoy and participate in the joyous and fun
holiday season. The parade now attracts well over 80,000 spectators
and hosts over 100 entries of all types. Fabulously lighted floats,
big rigs (Tonka Toys), equestrians, bands, autos, and celebrities
now entertain crowds of spectators from all over Southern California.
This year's theme is "Holiday with Lights". Time: 5:45pm.

Lucia Fest - 42nd Annual - Cultural
Event
Imagine being able to experience a true Scandinavian Christmas right
here in the Coachella Valley. Commencing at 1:00 p.m., all Swedes,
Norwegians, Danes, Fins, want- to- be Vikings and the general public
are invited to the 42nd Annual Lucia Fest at the Hope Lutheran Church,
35900 Portola Ave., in Palm Desert. Everyone is welcome to start
off the holiday season with some good old-fashioned Scandinavian
merriment. There will be real homemade crafts and baked goods followed
by a traditional Swedish meatball dinner and the arrival of Santa

The Palm Springs Writers Guild will host their monthly membership
meeting at the Rancho Mirage Public Library starting at 2pm. As

owner of Mortimer Literary Agency whose topic will be “Perils
of Publishing: Why Do I Need an Agent?” Kelly made the Top

Film Festival (PSIFF) will include over 400 screenings of more than
