No Kid Hungry and Tommy Bahama Join Forces To Help End Child Hunger
Tommy Bahama, 73-595 El Paseo, Palm Desert, CA 92260 / One in five children in America struggle with hunger, and for the second year, Tommy Bahama is partnering with Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry campaign. Throughout September, guests visiting any Tommy Bahama Restaurant or full-priced U.S. retail location, as well as tommybahama.com can make a $5 donation to No Kid Hungry. In exchange for the donation, Tommy Bahama is offering a $20 promotional award card that can be redeemed in Tommy Bahama Restaurants, full-priced U.S. retail stores and tommybahama.com from October 1st-31st. Anyone who chooses to donate $1 at any Tommy Bahama Restaurant location will receive an orange wrist band with the island-inspired lifestyle brand’s motto “Make Life One Long Weekend.™”

Funds are used to raise awareness about child hunger in the U.S.; create public-private partnerships that align kids with the resources they need; support nutrition programs like school breakfast and summer meals; and educate kids and their families on how to cook healthy meals with limited resources.

The Living Desert's Hispanic Heritage Month
The Living Desert, 47900 Portola Ave, Palm Desert, CA 92260 / Party-goers will enjoy musical entertainment from Mariachi groups to youth Folklorico dancers, dance lessons, arts and crafts, as well as authentic Mexican cuisine including tacos and churros. In addition, there will be animal keeper chats relating to the Mexican wolf, el lobo Mexicano; the jaguar; the caracara, sometimes called the Mexican Eagle and other animals important in Hispanic culture. Scavenger hunts and a variety of games and giveaways will also be highlights of the day’s celebrations. Riverside County Fairgrounds, 46350 Arabia Street, Indio, CA / New and used, brand-name merchandise is discovered at the Indio Open-Air Market, held from 4-10 p.m., Wednesday and Saturday (except during Date Festival), at the Riverside County Fair and National Date Festival Fairgrounds. The architecture of the fairgrounds is that of a city in Morocco, and in that way is perhaps the most interesting of the fairgrounds to be found in Southern California. The market fills the palm tree fringed parking area of the fairgrounds. Shoppers can watch the sunset while buying "fresh from the field" produce picked that morning by our vendors. A trip for produce should always include the fresh dates that are grown in the immediate area. Nearly everything for the entire family can be found at reasonable prices by browsing the many aisles with the moon as your companion. Riverside County Fairgrounds, 46350 Arabia Street, Indio, CA / New and used, brand-name merchandise is discovered at the Indio Open-Air Market, held from 4-10 p.m., Wednesday and Saturday (except during Date Festival), at the Riverside County Fair and National Date Festival Fairgrounds. The architecture of the fairgrounds is that of a city in Morocco, and in that way is perhaps the most interesting of the fairgrounds to be found in Southern California. The market fills the palm tree fringed parking area of the fairgrounds. Shoppers can watch the sunset while buying "fresh from the field" produce picked that morning by our vendors. A trip for produce should always include the fresh dates that are grown in the immediate area. Nearly everything for the entire family can be found at reasonable prices by browsing the many aisles with the moon as your companion.
